About Sillage

Sillage is the trail a fragrance leaves in the air after someone has passed. It is also the name of what we are building: a way to understand fragrance, and to understand your own.

One intelligence, two experiences

Sillage Brain is the world of fragrance, organized and connected. Fragrances, houses, perfumers, notes and materials each have a page, and every page links to the others: the perfumer behind a scent, the house that released it, the notes it shares with others. It is open to everyone, signed in or not.

Your Sillage is yours alone. Your collection, the days you wear something and how it wore, what you rate, what you plan, and what you ask. From these, Sillage learns your taste and suggests what fits the day. None of it is public, and none of it is shared.

What we hold ourselves to

• Every fact has a source. A fact on a public page is shown only when the source it came from allows it, and only when sources agree. When they disagree, the fact waits.
• A gap is stated, never filled with a guess. If we do not know a perfumer, a year or a note, the page says so.
• You are the authority on your own taste. What you tell Sillage outweighs what it infers from what you wear, and you can correct anything it believes about you.
• Your data is yours. You can download all of it, choose how long conversations are kept, and delete them whenever you like.
